Mr. Yousef Abdullah Al-Benyan
Mr. Yousef Abdullah Al-Benyan is the Vice Chairman and CEO of SABIC and a member of the Investment Committee.
Mr. Al-Benyan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Industrial Management. In addition, he has received several specialized courses in Executive Management.
Mr. Al-Benyan also serves as the B20 Saudi Arabia Chairman. Additionally, he is Chairman of the Boards for the Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (Yansab), the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company (SAFCO), and Saudi Iron and Steel Company (HADEED). He also holds leading positions on some national and regional associations and committees, including Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), and Chairman of the Petrochemical Manufacturers Committee.
Furthermore, Mr. Al-Benyan is a member of several national and international business councils, forums, associations and boards, including: the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum; the Global Business Council of the Bloomberg Global Forum; the Board of Directors of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA); the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA); the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu; and the Saudi Ports Authority. Mr. Al-Benyan is also a member of the King Saud University Advisory Board, and a member of the International Advisory Board of the King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals. He is a member of the Board of King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology, the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), and the Constituent Council of Future Transportation Sector Development Project.
Prior to being named the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SABIC, Mr. Al-Benyan served as the Executive Vice President, Corporate Finance and CFO. Before that, in 2013, Mr. Al-Benyan was elected to head SABIC’s Chemicals business, the company’s largest sector, aiming to help SABIC achieves its goal of becoming the preferred global leader in chemicals by 2025. He was also a member of the boards of directors of several companies and committees including the Board of the National Industrial Clusters Development Program, and the Executive Committee of the Riyadh Economic Forum of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Mr. Sultan Bin-Battal
Mr. Sultan Bin-Battal is the Vice President of SABIC Transformation Office where he leads the SABIC Global Transformation program. Prior to this role, he held key leadership positions in multiple regions, business units, and functions including Corporate Strategy and Planning, Global Integration Programs – FANAR and FANAR+, Business Unit Vice President of select Polymers business portfolio, chief architect of the creation of Global SABIC 1st Transformation i.e single common business solution and system that created Fanar and Shared Services.
He has actively served as Board of Director on various Global companies e.g. Saudi Arabia Industrial Investment Company (SAIIC), Arabia Petrochemical Company (Petrokemya), etc. and is currently on the Board of Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company.
He holds Master degree in Industrial Management from Central Michigan University, US and completed a series of executive leadership development programs at Tuck Business School, London Business School, and IMD.
Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun
Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun has been Secretary General of the Gulf Petrochemicals & Chemicals Association (GPCA) since 2009, following a career of more than two and a half decades in the GCC region’s petrochemicals and energy sectors.
In his current role he covers the GPCA’s operational and strategic functions, reporting to a Board comprised of 15 CEOs from leading GCC Chemical Companies.
Amongst his achievements with the GPCA, he contributed to successfully defending the industry’s position on several trade remedies cases filed in Taiwan, Egypt and the EU, in addition to developing content and bilingual publications to share thought leadership and industry insights with regional peers. Dr. Al-Sadoun played a pivotal role in expanding the GPCA’s events portfolio by 261%, from one event in 2008 attended by 928 delegates, to six events in 2014 attended by 3,350 delegates. His direction has also seen the Association’s member base increase by 109% over the past 5 years, as a result of structured marketing campaigns.
His career began in 1990, as a Senior Researcher at SABIC Research and Development Center in Saudi Arabia. He has since worked for several of the most prominent agencies in the region, including Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), Al-Sharq Plastic Industries Co., and PetroBaas for Industrial Investment Co.
Dr. Al-Sadoun is member of the Steering Committee of the International Council of Chemical Associations and the Board of Trustees of the Riyadh Economic Forum and the Arabian Society for Human Resources Management.
He holds a PhD in the field of Industrial Chemistry granted by King’s College, University of London, United Kingdom, in addition to being a graduate of the General Management Program (GMP3), Harvard Business School (HBS), Harvard University, USA, and a graduate of several Executive Management & Technical training programs at leading international institutions in Japan, USA and Europe.
